Expansion Joint Curbs and Control Joint Curbs

Expansion Joint Curbs and Control Joint Curbs

Roof expansion joints are gaps that are designed into a commercial roof to allow for thermal expansion and contraction of a roof system (or roof and terminating wall). Pate Expansion Joint Curbs (EJ) are designed to prevent leaks across the expansion joint opening.

The primary purpose of a roof control joint is to separate roof areas, or divide areas into smaller sections to facilitate maintenance, or future roof replacement. Unlike an expansion joint, it is not intended to accommodate structural movement. Pate Control Joint Curbs (CJ) are designed to prevent leakage across the roof control joint.

Pate Expansion Joint Curbs (EJ) and Control Joint Curbs (CJ) construction:

  • Heavy-gauge galvanized steel construction
  • Internally reinforced
  • Pressure-treated wood nailer
